About The Acorn:

The long-awaited follow-up to 2007's critically-acclaimed Glory Hope Mountain comes after two years of extensive touring throughout North America and Europe with the likes of Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes, Calexico and ELBOW. Glory Hope Mountain was selected for the prestigious 2008 Polaris Music Prize long list and the band was recently the only Canadian group among the 25 artists nominated for the Uncut Music Award alongside Bob Dylan, Dirty Projectors, Wilco, Animal Collective and Grizzly Bear.

Rolf Klausener and company began working on No Ghost in Northern Quebec during the summer of 2009. Modernity clashed with the bucolic via exploratory percussion, feedback, acoustic textures and the natural surrounding sounds. The band finished recording in a sweltering heatwave at Montreal's Treatment Room Studios. Although unplanned, the album represents the closing of a trilogy that began with their debut album, The Pink Ghosts (2004).

Along with their three full-length albums, the band has released two EPs, Blankets (2005) and Tin Fist (2006).
